About the Mountain

WHY SKI HERE?

As the largest ski resort in North America, Whistler Blackcomb has endless terrain to explore, especially when you consider its world-class heli-skiing runs. It also has some epic steeps, like Couloir Extreme, which is 2,500 vertical feet at a 42° angle. Whether you’re an expert-level adventure junkie or total beginner, Whistler’s excellent ski school will help you gain some new skis and make the most of your time on the mountain.

“Play is the exultation of the possible.”

- Martin Buber

Beyond exemplary skiing and awe-inspiring views, Whistler is known for its base village, which puts other base villages to shame. Right at the edge of the slopes is a pedestrian-only village with everything you could want – a range of hotel options, top-notch restaurants, boutique shops, spas, and excellent bars to enjoy après. There’s nowhere to drive, so you can warm up with a glass of wine without worrying about making it home or the traffic on the way out.
