WHY SKI HERE?

With temperatures as low as -20°F, Inner Mongolia might not be the first place you’d think of visiting in the winter. But if you come prepared with warm clothes and an adventurous attitude, you might discover why winter tourism is on the rise there. Its characteristic rolling grasslands and evergreen forests look even more wonderous under a layer of sparkling frost, and you can partake in any number of unique winter activities, like skiing at Alshan Alpine Ski Resort.

“You are never too old to set a new goal or to dream a new dream.”

- C.S. Lewis

Alshan might be a bit challenging to get to, located 3 to 4 hours from the nearest airport at Ulanhot. But if you make the journey, you’ll have the privilege of skiing in one of the most unique places on earth, which offers both downhill and cross country skiing. Plan your trip around the Winter Nadam Fair, a Camel Fair, or the Alshan Ice and Snow Festival for the ultimate Inner Mongolian experience.
