About the Mountain

WHY SKI HERE?

Known as ‘Ski Town USA,’ Steamboat Springs has a reputation for keeping its cowboy culture alive while producing more Olympic skiers than you can shake a stick at. What does this mean for visiting skiers? You get to enjoy a laid back, fun-loving vibe, while at the same time having access to world-class terrain and ski instructors.

“Every experience is a form of exploration.”

- Ansel Adams

Spread across six mountains – Mt. Werner, Sunshine Peak, Storm Peak, Thunderhead Peak, Pioneer Ridge, and Christie Peak – Steamboat has a lot of terrain to explore. Luckily, it’s one of the rare resorts that offers night skiing half the week, and you can even ski for free the evening of your arrival if you show your airline boarding pass. So the ambitious can put in overtime to see it all.
