About the Mountain

WHY SKI HERE?

Les 3 Valles is the largest linked ski area in the world, including 8 main resorts, all spectacular in their own right and many ranked among the world’s best – Courchevel, Val Thorens, La Tania, Orelle, Menuires, Saint-Martin de Belleville, Meribel, and Brides les Bains. The worst part of your trip will be having to pick just one spectacular village to be based. While it’s easy to get from one area to another, you’ll ski your home terrain daily, so pick wisely. Courchevel is considered the crème de la crème, but few can afford to stay there. Meribel is a very close second best, since it’s in the middle valley and has a magical alpine ambiance. Plus it has a great après scene, second only to Val Thorens.

“Play keeps us vital and alive. It gives us an enthusiasm for life that is irreplaceable. Without it, life just doesn’t taste good.”

- Lucia Capocchione

If you visit Les 3 Valles, don’t miss the highest run in the region, Coraia in Orelle. The views from the start at 10,600 feet will blow your mind, not to mention all the stunning vistas on the way down. Other noteworthy points include Meribel’s high point, Mont Vallon, and the Folières intermediate run in La Tania. With so much terrain to explore, you’ll need some serious replenishment by the end of your long day. Fortunately, the restaurant options don’t leave anything to be desired. Après favorites include cheese fondue or melted raclette. Only order both if you’re prepared to not eat for the rest of the week.
