About the Race

WHY RUN IT?

It’s easy to see why so many finishers of the Manaslu Trail Race call it the adventure of a lifetime and one of the best things they’ve ever done. Unlike so many ultras that strive to be brutally tough, the Manaslu Trail Race strives to expose the striking beauty of the Himalayas, while giving runners a chance to do what they love. The course is undoubtedly challenging, especially with the altitude, but the stage-race format makes it accessible to most distance runners with trail experience.

“If one could run without getting tired I don't think one would often want to do anything else.”

- C.S. Lewis

The best part about the Manaslu Trail Race is that you’ll have a full two weeks to be immersed in Nepali culture. By the end of it, you’ll be drinking chai tea and eating dal like you couldn’t imagine life without it. The biggest challenge of all will probably be returning to normal life after, as there’s something captivating about the Himalayas that leaves almost anyone who visits wanting to go back.
