About the Mountain

WHY SKI HERE?

If you think New Mexico can’t possibly have good skiing, think again. At Taos, the Kachina Peak Chair will take you to the fourth highest lift-served summit in the United States, and the Wild West Glades offer 60 acres of hike-to expert terrain. All this and you’ll get to enjoy après in the ‘Land of Enchantment,’ where sunsets light the sky on fire after bluebird days.

“The struggles we endure today will be the ‘good old days’ we laugh about tomorrow.”

- Aaron Lauritsen

Beyond its technical terrain and setting in the quirky artist mecca known as the ‘Soul of the Southwest,’ Taos is known for its ski weeks, where you can affordably up your skiing and racing skills over 6-10 group sessions. It’s also a great way to meet new ski buddies. Taos locals are extremely friendly and quite a few locals participate.
