About the Race

WHY RUN IT?

The Salomon 42K Patagonia is one of the premier trail running events in South America, and for good reason. The course, starting in Villa La Angostura, features over 7,000 feet of elevation gain and some of the most breathtaking views in the region. From mountain lakes to snowy peaks over rocky, winding trails, the course tests runners technical ability as much as their endurance and mental strength.

“Wake up with a plan of action, go to bed with satisfaction.”

- Greg Plitt

After crossing the finish line and resting up in Villa La Angostura, make it a proper road trip by continuing north to San Martin de los Andes. Be sure to the Route of the Seven Lakes, as it’s considered one of the most scenic drives in Argentina for good reason. If you still have some time (and energy) left over after, you can cross into Chile and visit the Torres del Paine National Park. One of the most beautiful places on earth, Torres del Paine features icy blue glaciers and stunning natural rock formations. Many hikers take on the multi-day W Trek, but you can also do a single day bus tour for a shorter and more relaxing excursion.
