About the Race

WHY RUN IT?

The Tahoe 200 circumnavigates Lake Tahoe on the Tahoe Rim Trail, high up in the Sierra Nevada mountains. If you’re a first time visitor to the region, you’re likely to be stunned at how blue the sparkling water is. Between the near constant lake views and unique rock formations on the course, you’re likely to find the Tahoe 200 one of the most stunning ultras around.

“As powerful as our legs are, as magnificent as our lungs and arms and muscles are, nothing matters more than the mind.”

- Scott Jurek

Since the race starts and finishes in Homewood, near Tahoe City, you might want to take a trip up to Incline Village after the race to see Kings Beach and Crystal Bay. You could also head south to South Lake Tahoe, stopping by Emerald Bay State Park en route.
