About the Race

WHY RUN IT?

The TransAlpine Run is one of few races in the world to cross into 3 different countries – Germany, Austria, and Italy. It good the course is broken into stages, as there’s 54,000 feet of elevation gain to tackle. You’ll pass through more alpine villages, high passes, forests, and mountain lakes than you can count, getting a true feel for the scope of Alpine trail running.

“Rational assessments too often led to rational surrenders.”

- Scott Jurek

After the TransAlpine Run is all said and done, the race provides a shuttle back to Munich Airport. But you could also pull a fast one and have a friend meet you at the finish to continue your adventure! Just have them fly into Venice, drive up to the mountains, and meet you for some recovery hiking. Then you can venture back to Venice together to close out your trip with an iconic canal tour.
